Our Story
Marlborough Plumbing & Heating began as Running Plumbing in 2000, when owner Rob Marshall relocated to Blenheim after many years working in the trade in North Canterbury. In 2002, Rob rebranded to Marlborough Plumbing & Heating — a deliberate statement of intent. He'd seen firsthand that Marlborough lacked a specialist hydronic heating installer, and he set out to fill that gap.
More than two decades later, MPH has installed over 600 radiators and laid more than 150 kilometres of underfloor heating pipe across the region. We're Marlborough's most experienced hydronic heating installer — and we're still based here, still local, and still answering the phone.
Our philosophy hasn't changed since day one: we're here to help, not to sell. We'll give you honest advice about what you need, we won't recommend work that isn't necessary, and we'll stand behind everything we do. That's why the majority of our work comes through repeat clients and referrals.

Owner & Certifying Plumber/Boss Man
Rob has been in the plumbing trade for over 35 years. Trained in North Canterbury, he established Running Plumbing in 2000 before rebranding as Marlborough Plumbing & Heating in 2002 when he identified the region's need for a specialist heating installer. He holds a Certifying Plumber licence and oversees all major projects.

Full membership of the Master Plumbers, Gasfitters & Drainlayers of NZ — the peak body for the trade.
Master Drainlayers NZ
Accreditation for all aspects of drainlaying work, including residential and commercial drainage.
PGDB Licensed
Licensed by the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board — the statutory licensing authority for the trade in New Zealand.
NZICH
Membership of the New Zealand Institute of Certified Home Inspectors — demonstrating knowledge of whole-home performance.
Stiebel Eltron Accredited Installer
Factory-trained and assessed by Stiebel Eltron to install and warranty their premium heat pump and heating systems.
CHNZ Certified Pro Installer
Central Heating New Zealand Certified Pro — a designation requiring demonstrated competence in hydronic heating system design and installation.
Our Service Area
We're based in Blenheim and cover the full Marlborough region — from Kaikōura in the south to the outer Marlborough Sounds in the north. Most of our work is within 30 minutes of Blenheim, but we travel for the right job.
